The Dragon Boat Festival

The Dragon Boat Festival, a significant traditional festival in China,
is celebrated on the 5th day of the May of the lunar calendar.

It commemorates the life and death of the famous ancient Chinese poet, Qu Yuan, who drowned himself in despair.

The festival is marked by dragon boat races, believed to be started by people racing to save Qu Yuan.

Another tradition is eating zongzi, sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves, which are thrown into the river to feed the fish and ensure Qu Yuan’s body is not eaten.

This festival combines elements of mourning and respect for ancestors with a celebration of community and culture.

Best Wishes for Dragon Boat Festival !
